CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a qualified mental health professional for a contracted therapist position serving the Buffalo County Jail.

This grant-funded opportunity is part of a broader effort to address the impact of opioid and substance misuse in our communities and better connect individuals experiencing behavioral health and substance-use challenges with appropriate services.

The contracted therapist will provide up to 24 hours of services each week, working alongside Jail Medical, Jail Security, and Jail Administration to provide mental health services and help identify substance misuse.

The position will also collaborate with law enforcement, the Co-Responder Unit, Buffalo County Attorney’s Office, and Region 3 to assist individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.

Applicants should be an LMHP or higher. PLMHP applicants with appropriate experience and supervision may also be considered.

Interviews are tentatively scheduled for October 1, 2026.
